Oasis Farming in Travian: Kingdoms — A Complete Guide

Oases are one of the most under-used early-game resource sources in Travian: Kingdoms. The unoccupied ones near your village are guarded only by wild animals — and once you can clear those animals, they become a steady, low-risk source of extra resources. The hard part is not the farming; it is finding the good ones without spending an hour squinting at the map.

How oases work

Each oasis offers a resource bonus and is defended by a randomly generated set of wild animals — rats, spiders, wolves, bears and so on. The animal composition determines how much army you need to clear it without heavy losses. Some oases can be annexed by a Hero's Mansion for a permanent production bonus; others are best treated as repeatable farms.

  • Check the animal garrison before attacking — a stack of bears will shred an under-sized raid.
  • Closer oases mean faster round-trips and more raids per day.
  • Annexable oases give a permanent bonus; farmable ones give repeatable loot.
  • Re-scan periodically — animal counts regenerate over time.

Is it worth your time?

For a small, mobile early army, nearby oases are excellent: low defence, predictable loot, short travel. As the server matures and animal stacks grow, the calculation shifts and player farms often pay better. The decision always comes down to two numbers — how many animals guard it, and how far away it is.

Scan before you commit troops

Sending scouts or a raid blind is how you lose an army. Knowing the animal count and distance up front turns oasis farming from a gamble into arithmetic.

Find them all in one click

Manually opening every tile around your villages to record bonuses and animal counts is the tedious part. An oasis scanner does it in one pass: sweep the map around your villages and get a sorted report of every free oasis, its bonus, and how many animals guard it — ranked by distance, so the best targets float to the top.

TKB includes exactly this scanner as a deliberate, low-frequency action you trigger yourself — never a background spike — so you get the full picture without the click-fatigue or the suspicious traffic of constantly sweeping the map.

Key takeaway

Oasis farming rewards information: animal count and distance decide everything. Scan first, target the closest lightly-guarded oases, and re-scan as the server ages.
